India’s Worst Record: 46 All-Out

Team India, which was riding high on the T20 World Cup win and the recent whitewash against Bangladesh, got a huge jolt in the form of New Zealand today.

In the first home test against New Zealand, India got all-out for just 46 runs in the first innings, shocking everyone. This happens to be India’s lowest total ever in a home Test match and the third-lowest in any Test match.

The match was supposed to start yesterday at Chinnaswamy Stadium but was postponed due to heavy rain in Bengaluru. When play finally commenced this morning, India won the toss and elected to bat. However, the decision backfired badly as our batters completely failed to tackle New Zealand’s bowling

Kiwi bowlers Matt Henry (5/15) and William O’Rourke (4/22) dominated with the new ball, rapidly dismantling India’s batting order. Rishabh Pant (20) emerged as the top scorer, but five players, including Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul, and Jadeja, failed to score, getting out for ducks. Eventually, India got all-out of 46 runs in 31.2 overs.
