Donald Trump on skipping 60 Minutes interview: ‘Worst and most blatant scandal’

Donald Trump doubled down on CBS’ 60 Minutes editing row and said it is the worst and the most blatant scandal in the broadcast history. He said he had done 60 Minutes interview many times when “journalism was respected and legit” as his opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris questioned why Donald Trump did not face the 60 Minutes and thereby broke decades-long election tradition.
”I’ve done 60 Minutes many times, even back in the good ol’ days when Journalism was respected and legit, but I have never seen a very poor answer being REPLACED by another, totally unrelated answer, in order to save the person great personal and professional embarrassment. What 60 Minutes did in doing this was Election Interference and Fraud. It is the worst and most blatant scandal in Broadcast History, and will not be soon forgotten. Just watch!” Trump posted on Truth Social as the presidential race becomes intense with only three weeks lefts for the election.

What is the row over Kamala Harris 60 Minutes interview edit?
CBS aired a totally different answer to the same question from what was teased as a preview of the interview on social media triggering demands that CBS should release the full transcript of the original interview without its smart edit. The network published a transcript of the broadcast in full on that night but it did not have the answer that Harris gave to a question about the war in Gaza.
In a parallel controversy, Donald Trump backed out of the interview at the very last moment after the network said they would fact-check.
While Kamala Harris questioned Donald Trump’s decision to skip the interview, she called Donald Trump unstable, unhinged and out for unchecked power. “Watch his rallies. Listen to his words. He tells us who he is, and he tells us what he would do if he is elected president,” Harris told a large crowd in Pennsylvania on Monday.
