Bollywood’s ₹6000 Cr Scam: Mastermind Revealed!

UAE officials have arrested Sourabh Chandrakar, the mastermind behind the illegal betting app Mahadev. He allegedly ran a scam of ₹6000 crore which involved the names of the biggest celebrities and politicians.

Once a juice vendor in Chhattisgarh, Chandrakar ran his criminal operation with his business partner Ravi Uppal. The duo has been on house detention in UAE since December last year.

And now the kingpin behind the operation is finally expected to return to India. According to media reports, a court in Raipur issued an extradition order for the alleged scammer which is now being sent to UAE officials.

The illegal betting app was once promoted by some of the biggest Indian superstars including Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Kapil Sharma, Tamannah Bhatia, and many more. Around 17 celebrities were allegedly paid to attend and perform at Chandrakar’s grand wedding in UAE.

The involvement of such high-profile names raised questions about how someone can exploit the system so easily. The celebrities were questioned by the ED and were criticized for their ignorance of promoting an illegal app.

The case is still under investigation and only time will tell how many more names are linked to this convoluted web.
