    Horrific Train Accident In Tamil Nadu

    Of late, there have been frequent train accidents in India. In one such recent incident, Bhagmathi Express, travelling from Mysuru to Darbhanga, was derailed after colliding with a stationary goods train at Kavarapettiyil in Chennai.

    The incident happened at around 9 pm on Friday. Around 12-13 coaches of the train were derailed, and four AC coaches caught fire, resulting in injuries to multiple passengers. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.

    Videos and photos of the accident spread widely on social media, showing dramatic scenes of passengers being rescued from train coaches on fire.

    Local people, police, and fire department officers worked tirelessly to save passengers from the train. The rescue took several hours to finish.

    Reports say a special train with the stranded passengers left from Dr MGR Chennai Central railway station early this morning at around 4:45 AM.

    Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin expressed shock over the incident by tweeting, “I was shocked to know that there was a train accident in Kavaripettai, Tiruvallur district. As soon as the information was available, I ordered the Hon’ble Minister @Avadi_Nasar and other government officials including the District Collector to go to the accident site.”

    “The government is working fast in rescue and relief work. The injured are immediately taken to the hospital. A separate team is functioning to arrange food and travel facilities for the other passengers to return home,” he added.

    On the other side, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin visited the injured passengers at the Government Stanley Medical College Hospital in Chennai.
