Where’s Alia’s Stardom? No Effect Of Stree 2?

Alia Bhatt is teaming up with Karan Johar for the film Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala. This action thriller focuses on sisterhood, with Vedang Raina playing Alia’s brother.

The advance bookings for Jigra began on Wednesday but have seen poor to average responses. The film is expected to sell around 25,000 to 30,000 tickets in PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis (PIC), indicating first-day earnings between Rs 4.5 to 5 crore. The film needs to impress urban audiences in cities, as expectations are low in mass belts.

If Jigra receives positive reviews, it may continue to perform well until the release of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. Its first-weekend earnings could range from Rs 20 to 22 crore, with lifetime earnings hoped to reach between Rs 50 to 60 crore.

After the All Time Blockbuster Stree 2, Rajkummar Rao is back in another comedy, Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa, featuring Triptii Dimri as the female lead.

Advance bookings opened on the same day as Jigra, and it has sold about 13,500 tickets in major chains like PVR, INOX, and Cinepolis, aiming for around 20,000 total tickets.

First-day earnings for Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video are expected to be similar to Jigra, around Rs 4 to 5 crore. This film may attract more walk-in audiences due to its comedy genre.

Much more was expected from Rajkummar Rao after the success of Stree 2 but this film is behaving just like usual Rajkummar Rao movies.

The first weekend’s earnings could reach Rs 20 crores and then it is all about the audience’s response.

Overall, it is going to be a very average Dussehra weekend at the box office.
