Less Than Rajini’s Last Disaster Peddanna?

Less Than Rajini’s Last Disaster Peddanna?

Superstar Rajinikanth’s fan following is well-known, and his films have made waves even with average reviews.

However, as his latest film Vettaiyan is set to release in the Telugu states in just 36 hours, the excitement seems pretty low.

In Hyderabad, booking trends at major multiplexes indicate so-so interest, but the response in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities is reportedly very dull.

With Devara still drawing some crowds, questions about whether Vettaiyan can hold its own arise, with many commenting that the film’s reception will largely depend on its word-of-mouth.

In Tamil Nadu, however, bookings for Vettaiyan are reportedly better but nowhere compared to Vijay’s last few films.

Vettaiyan is being distributed in the Telugu states by Asian Suresh, and reports suggest that it has secured a substantial pre-release business. The film needs to put up big numbers to recover that amount.

Changes to the script have been made based on Rajinikanth’s inputs, aiming to enhance its appeal. Anirudh Ravichander’s music and background score are also expected to be strong points for the film.

Fans hope that Vettaiyan will surpass the success of his previous film Jailer, particularly with the Dussehra holidays running.

However, it’s worth noting that the buzz around Vettaiyan in the Telugu states is pretty dull. In fact, the bookings for Rajinikanth’s last disaster, Peddanna, were reportedly better than those for Vettaiyan.

The decision to keep a Tamil title for a Telugu dubbed film may have backfired, potentially affecting audience interest and box office prospects.

As the release draws closer, it remains to be seen if Vettaiyan can turn around this poor reception into a success story.
