As the deadline to submit the Jeevan Pramaan certificate approaches, scammers are exploiting the situation by sending fake messages with fraudulent links. They pretend to be government officials and text the retired folks to get their personal details or their pension will be discontinued.
People quickly act out of fear without questioning the legitimacy of the messages. The personal information is later used for identity theft and fraud.
