Rhea Chakraborty has been at the center of several controversies, making her one of the most controversial figures in the film industry.

In 2020, Rhea was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) due to drug-related charges connected to the suicide of her boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

She was accused of supplying drugs to Sushant and spent 28 days in jail before being granted bail. However, the Bombay High Court dismissed the NCB’s claims that Rhea funded Sushant’s alleged drug use.

Following Sushant’s death, Rhea faced intense media scrutiny and public backlash. She has openly discussed the challenges she encountered, including her arrest and the negative public perception during that time.

Rhea is back in the spotlight due to police summons related to a scam involving an app called HiBox. The app reportedly scammed users out of approximately Rs 500 crore, and several celebrities who promoted it are being questioned.

The HiBox app promised significant returns on investments, which attracted over 30,000 users. However, it stopped making payments from July 2023, citing technical issues.

The police are investigating, and legal notices have been sent to several influencers who endorsed the app, including comedian Bharti Singh and YouTuber Elvish Yadav. The main accused, Sivaram from Chennai, has been arrested, and Rs 18 crore has been seized from his accounts.
