A recent video making rounds on the internet has left social media divided. The video, posted on Instagram, seems to be from Ontario, Canada, where a landlord can be seen throwing out the belongings of an Indian tenant, while the tenant stands and watches in bewilderment, both helpless and shirtless!
The Indian man can be seen trying to verbally protest against his landlord’s actions, but his words seem to fall on deaf ears, as the landlord continues to throw his stuff out the door. The 15-second video has ripped the internet in two halves, with some supporting the tenant, while others justifying the landlord’s actions.

People have been very vocal about the situation in the comments. One user writes, “Pretty sure not Brampton. The tenant can take the landlord to court and basically stay rent-free until it is resolved.” “Indian being Indian not taking warning seriously.”, adds another user.
While more information regarding the situation is currently unavailable, it is no mystery that many tenants from foreign nations have to face a similar sort of treatment from people in countries like Canada. Tenants in particular have been the subjects of torment for their landlords since time immemorial.

This has led to laws becoming much more strict and in the favour of the tenant, to prevent situations like unlawful evictions by the landlords. It is also not a secret that many tenants often use these laws to gain an unfair advantage over their landlords, as any dispute could take months to get sorted, meanwhile providing the tenant with literal free accommodations!
