    67 Indians Rescued From Death!

    Job Scam

A recent rescue operation by the Indian Embassy in Cambodia and the local Ministry of Interior has been making headlines, in which the Indian Embassy conducted a joint operation with the Cambodian Police, leading to the rescue of 67 Indian citizens trapped in a job scam.

These individuals were reportedly lured to Poipet, Cambodia by fake job offers, where they were then forced into cybercrime operations. Their return is now being facilitated in batches, with 39 of them already repatriated and the rest soon to follow.

The victims of many such scams are mostly poor Indians, who are often forced to leave their own country in search of a better job and a better future for them as well as their families.

These offers often arrive from shady agents or suspicious social media posts, leading to many people falling prey to such exploitations, as they are forced to commit cybercrime by scamming innocent and unsuspecting individuals.

Many who accept such offers and travel abroad to the Southeastern nations like Cambodia, often find themselves trapped in dangerous and exploitative working conditions, with their passports duly seized, leaving them with no way to return back.

Until the lack of awareness among the people is duly addressed, many innocent Indians would continue to fall prey to such exploitations in the future.
