Telangana Cabinet Minister Konda Surekha’s comments against Samantha and Nagarjuna’s family stirred controversy in political and film circles.

After facing a severe backlash, Konda Surekha apologised to Samantha and Nagarjuna’s family by saying she never intended to hurt them and adding that her statements were unfortunate.

However, later she said whatever she said was from her internal sources and she would never shy away from talking about such things even in the future.

People were outraged by these defensive comments and demanded the Congress party to take action against her.

Meanwhile, Nagarjuna’s younger son, Akhil Akkineni, took a strong stance on the issue by tweeting on X this morning. He tweeted, “The baseless and ridiculous statements made by Konda Surekha are vulgar and disgusting. Being a public servant who is expected to protect the people she has decided to forget her morals and social welfare.”

“The way she has acted is shameful and unforgivable. There are respected citizens and honest family members left hurt and disrespected. In a political war that she was selfishly trying to win she has shamelessly attacked and scapegoated innocent individuals who have much higher values and social understanding than her,” he wrote.

“As a family member and as a member of the film fraternity I will not be quiet. Justice must be served to this shameful person. There is no space or forgiveness for people like her in our society. This will not be forgiven, nor will it be tolerated,” Akhil added.

Already, Nagarjuna filed a defamation case against Surekha and now, Akhil, through his statements, asserted that he would not leave her until justice is served.
