Roopa Ganguly is well known in Indian households for her fierce role of Draupadi in 1980s Mahabharat. She has been famous not only in the entertainment industry but in the political arena as well.
The actress who once ruled people’s hearts with her performances now comes in news every now and then for her political controversies. She was recently arrested by the West Bengal police for obstructing their order of work.

Roopa Ganguly had risen to fame with her role of Draupadi in the iconic show. She later went to work in Tollywood, Bangla and Hindi TV industry in her much loved roles.
She is known for Kanoon, Chandrakanta, Janmabhoomi, Ingeet and many other serials. In 2015 she surprised everyone when she entered politics after joining Bharatiya Janata Party, she has been the member of Rajya Sabha from 2016-22, and also served as the President of BJP Mahila Morcha.

The recent controversy started when a 15 year old died after being crushed by an excavator in West Bengal. Since then, BJP members have been protesting against the officials and political leaders of the region.
She was taken into custody on 2 October at the Bansdroni Police Station. This scandal is surely disappointing for her fans and supporters.
