The festive season is here, but unlike previous years, the excitement around Bollywood releases is lacking. There’s a noticeable gap in October 2024’s movie calendar, leaving audiences with little to look forward to on the big screen.

Had films like Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video or Jigra released today (October 2nd), they could have easily opened with ₹8-10 crore.

Instead, they are clashing on October 11th, missing the lucrative holiday and Navratri period, especially in regions like West Bengal, Odisha, and Assam, where festive boosts could have made a big impact.

This poor release planning is seen as a missed opportunity, with many pointing out that Bollywood often leaves valuable windows vacant and then overcrowds other dates.

As a result, October is shaping up to be a dull month for Bollywood moviegoers, with Jigra and Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video being the only two notable releases.

Both films, set for October 11th, feature exciting stars like Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina, Rajkummar Rao, and Tripti Dimri, but their clash limits their potential reach.

Other Fridays in October offer little in terms of excitement, and the Pan-India releases in Hindi haven’t generated much anticipation after mixed responses to such films since 2023.

Fans are eagerly awaiting more updates on these films, hoping for a more thrilling November.
