Douglas Emhoff, the husband of U.S. Vice President and Democratic Presidential candidate Kamala Harris has been receiving fire from the Republican side over serious allegations of infidelity towards his first wife.
Doug Emhoff had delivered a heartfelt speech at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) after Kamala Harris officially accepted the democratic nomination for President, calling Kamala a “Joyful Warrior”.

In a recent interview, he also noted that supporting women has always been the core part of his values.
Doug noted that his core values and principles towards women were something that were passed down to him by his father, reiterating that equality for all has always been in the “American Values”.

In the interview he also talked about meeting Kamala Harris through a blind date, and leaving her a voicemail at 8:30 in the morning.
But not all has been merry for the “Second Gentleman” as he has been receiving constant attacks. Doug Emhoff’s statements have earned him the title of “wife guy” from the right.

The republicans have not remained quiet about Emhoff, constantly reminding the public that he had cheated on his first wife Kerstin Emhoff with their daughter’s nanny. Many have also speculated that Douglas forced the nanny into getting an abortion.
Despite these claims and criticisms, people have come to celebrate Doug Emhoff’s role as a modern and supportive husband, challenging the traditional aspects of masculinity.
