A couple of months ago, Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi faced a huge backlash for his controversial comments against Rebel Star Prabhas.

Speaking in an interview about Prabhas’s last film Kalki, Arshad Warsi said, “Prabhas, I am really sad, why was he… he was like a joker. Why? I want to see a Mad Max. I want to see Mel Gibson over there. Tumne usko kya bana dia yaar. Kyu karte ho aisa mujhe nahi samajh mein aata (What do you make of it? I never understand why they do things like that).”

These comments didn’t go well with Prabhas’s fans and many other celebrities in the Telugu film industry. Prabhas fans lashed out at Arshad Warsi for his insensitive comments.

Kalki’s director Nag Ashwin also reacted to the comments by writing, “Arshad saab (sir) should have chosen his words better… but it’s ok… sending Buji toys for his kids… I will work hard so tweets… that Prabhas was the best ever in K2.”

Celebrities like Nani, Sudheer Babu and director Ajay Bhupati also condemned Arshad’s statements.

Eventually, Arshad tried to cover his statements by saying that he spoke about Prabhas’s character in the movie and not him. Speaking on IIFA’s green carpet, Arshad said, “I spoke about the character, not the person. Prabhas is a brilliant actor and he has proved himself again and again, and we know about it.”

Arshad further stated that when bad characters are given to good actors, it will be heartbreaking for the audience.

However, netizens weren’t satisfied with Arshad’s statements as they felt that he should have apologised for his comments rather than covering them up.
