An investigation into the adulteration of ghee used for making the Tirumala Laddu Prasadam has officially begun with the involvement of a Special Investigation Team (SIT). The SIT, which arrived in Tirupati from Vijayawada via Vande Bharat train, has already begun collecting initial information regarding the purchase and usage of ghee from TTD officials. They met with TTD Executive Officer and other key personnel to gather necessary details.
The SIT, under the guidance of Sarvashrestha Tripathi, has been divided into three specialized teams to tackle the investigation from different angles:

1. First Team: Investigating Ghee Consumption & Laddu Quality
This team will analyze the quantity and quality of ghee used in making the laddus prior to and after 2019, comparing it to current usage and quality standards.
They will examine if any changes in ingredients or processes occurred post-2019, and whether ghee procurement tender rules were relaxed to favor AR Dairy in recent years.

2. Second Team: Investigating AR Dairy
This team will focus on AR Dairy, the supplier of the adulterated ghee.
They will investigate the background of the dairy, its efficiency, and identify where the adulteration occurred.
The team will also seek to uncover who is responsible for the adulteration and the masterminds behind it.

3. Third Team: Investigating TTD’s Marketing Office, Warehouses, and Lab
This team will focus on the tendering process over the past five years, investigating which companies supplied ghee and whether any irregularities occurred.
They will also review the lab reports on the quality of ghee, comparing findings from the last five years to more recent reports, to identify potential lapses in quality control.
The investigation aims to uncover the extent of the adulteration, the individuals responsible, and how this contamination occurred, ensuring the sanctity of the Tirumala Laddu Prasadam is restored.
