Devara Hindi Second Day Box Office: Warning Bells?

Devara Hindi Second Day Box Office

Jr. NTR’s Devara Part 1 had a decent start at the Hindi box office, earning Rs 7.5 crore on the first day. On the second day, it made around Rs 8.75 to 9.25 crore. Sunday is expected to push the total to over Rs 26-27 crore for the weekend.

Usually, Hindi films grow by 50-60% on Saturday, but Devara saw only 20-25% growth. Still, this is a good result given the weak advance bookings, with lifetime estimates at around Rs 30 crore.

Trade sources in Bollywood report that Devara made around Rs 42-43 crore gross in India on Saturday, reaching a total of over Rs 130 crore gross in two days.

The Hindi version performed better, while the Telugu version dropped heavily by 55% in Andhra and Telangana. This kind of drop is normal for big Telugu films and isn’t anything alarming.

The overseas business also dropped quite a bit.

Since the distribution costs were low, the film is expected to be fine as long as it doesn’t crash on Monday.

Worldwide, the film grossed Rs 180-185 crore in two days and could reach Rs 240-250 crore by the end of Sunday, with a Rs 120 crore distributor share.

For success, Devara needs a strong run during weekdays. In the Hindi market, it may reach Rs 40-42 crore in the first week, and hopes for a lifetime of Rs 65-75 crore, though Rs 100 crore is unlikely unless it sustains well for a few weeks, like Pushpa or Kantara.

Bollywood trade says that the Hindi rights were sold for Rs 50 crore, with hopes for Rs 100 crore net. Even if it falls short, getting close to that mark would still be a big win.
