Jagan Mohan Reddy is desperately trying to reduce the damage caused due to the Tirumala Laddu issue. He is going to Tirumala to have the Darshan of the Lord tomorrow trying to send a message to the Hindus that he believes in God.

Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has specified rules about the entry of non-Hindus into the Temple. They have to sign a declaration that they have faith in God even though they belong to a different faith.
Jagan has been refusing to sign this declaration for a long time. This issue has come to light once again.

Even during the previous tenures of Chandrababu, the Government was not serious about the Declaration. This time it is different.
Since serious offenses were committed to the Lord, people are serious about having Jagan sign the declaration.

While Jagan claims he believes in God, what is the problem with signing the declaration about the same?
Jagan wants the SC vote bank in the name of him being a converted Christian and a Hindu vote bank in the name of going to Temples.
A section of Christians are so hardcore that they do not even accept Prasad of other gods. These people are a strong vote bank for Jagan.
They know Jagan is going to Temples just for Vote-Bank Politics. Jagan fears this section will be offended if he declares faith on paper.
At the same time, declaring him as Christian on paper means trouble with the Hindu Vote Bank.
Even though everyone knows Jagan is a Christian, he does not want to commit that on paper since he tries to use Christian/Hindu planks as and when needed.
It should be remembered here that Former President APJ Abdul Kalam signed the Declaration in Tirumala even though he was in office. But it is difficult to expect the standards of Kalam from politicians these days.
