Meanwhile, the Crime Branch head has directed the Kochi police to arrest Siddique, and a lookout circular has been issued to prevent him from leaving the country.

The allegations stem from a complaint filed by a young female actor, who accused Siddique of raping her at the Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram on January 28, 2016, after a film preview.

This complaint came in the wake of the Hema Committee report, which investigated violence against women in the Malayalam film industry.

The police have gathered substantial evidence, including hotel records confirming that both Siddique and the complainant were at the hotel during the same time.

In her testimony, the complainant recounted being lured to the hotel under the pretense of a discussion after a film preview and described a harrowing escape from Siddique’s advances.

Following these allegations, Siddique resigned from his role as General Secretary of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA), asserting that the claims were part of a “prolonged campaign of harassment” against him.
