Karthi’s upcoming film Meiyazhagan, also known as Sathyam Sundaram in Telugu, is set to hit theaters this Friday, with the Telugu version debuting on Saturday.
Directed by Prem Kumar, known for the acclaimed film 96, the trailer released today offers a glimpse of the film’s emotional depth and camaraderie between Karthi and Arvind Swamy, who plays his brother-in-law.

The trailer portrays their journey from an initially awkward reunion at a wedding to a heartwarming bond filled with unconditional love. The emotional shift in the latter half hints at a touching narrative that promises to resonate with audiences.
During the pre-release event, Karthi addressed the impending clash with NTR’s highly anticipated Devara, stating, “Devara is like a war, while our film is like a breezy Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.”

He also shared a touching moment about his brother Suriya, saying, “My brother Suriya hugged me after watching my first film. After watching Sathyam Sundaram, he hugged me proudly and complimented my performance, saying I did wonderfully.”
The film has a runtime of 2 hours and 57 minutes, which could be a double-edged sword. If the story veers into a soppy melodramatic saga, the lengthy duration may hinder its appeal, potentially leading to audience fatigue.
