When was the last all-British world heavyweight title fight?

After a prolonged period without a world heavyweight title fight between Britons, the successes of Tyson Fury and AJ at the highest-levels of the sport have allowed fans to see the most famous belt in all of combat sports defended in the UK.

But when was the last time the heavyweight title was defended in Britain?

Less than two years ago, Tyson Fury put his WBC belt on the line in a trilogy bout against perennial contender Derek Chisora.

After twice defeating Del Boy during his ascent up the heavyweight ranks Fury again emerged victorious at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2022 via tenth-round TKO.

The dominant display marked the final defence of Fury’s reign before he suffered a first career defeat at the hands of current unified king Oleksandr Usyk in May.
