Patriots axe receiver Jalen Reagor just hours after he appeared to compare himself to a BUGATTI in cryptic Instagram post

    • WR Jalen Reagor spent two seasons with the New England Patriots
    • He was reportedly disgruntled prior to his controversial post

Jalen Reagor may think of himself as a Bugatti, but the Patriots apparently disagree as they cut the wide receiver on Tuesday.

Reagor, a first-round pick in the 2020 Draft, was on New England’s practice squad and hadn’t played through the two weeks this season.

And he was apparently frustrated by that situation as he posted a meme of a Bugatti in a trailer park to his Instagram story – perhaps suggesting that his talent was stuck in an unideal situation in New England.

He would later delete that story, but posted another one of former NBA star Allen Iverson saying that he is ‘human’ and ‘I know I don’t do everything right.’

The team announced at 4:02pm that they were releasing him from the practice squad.

However, the Boston Herald reported that Reagor’s release was not a ‘direct result’ of his post.

Reagor had reportedly expressed ‘similar sentiments’ to the meme previously within the organization.

Regardless, he has a chance for a fresh start now after departing his third team in four years.

There were big expectations for Reagor in Philly after he was drafted No. 21 overall but he lasted just two seasons there before being traded to the Vikings.

He only lasted a season there as well before being released and ultimately claimed by the Patriots last year.

His best season was his rookie year in Philly, when he posted 396 receiving yards and one touchdown in 11 games.
