Three-Time MLA Samineni Udaybhanu Leaving YSR Congress?

    Samineni Udaybhanu

Alla Nani from West Godavari and Kilaru Venkata Rosiah from Guntur district left YSRCP after the election results were announced. Both of them are prominent leaders from the Kapu community. Another key leader from the Kapu community is reportedly preparing to leave YSRCP, this time from the Krishna district.

Samineni Udaybhanu, who was elected to the AP Assembly from Jaggaiahpet as both a Congress and YSRCP candidate, is also from the Kapu community. He is known for his calm and composed approach to politics, in contrast to leaders like Gudiwada Amarnath, Ambati Rambabu, and Perni Nani. Samineni has maintained good relations with the YSR family and continued to support Jagan after the death of YSR by staying with YSRCP.

The primary reason for his departure is dissatisfaction with YS Jagan. Samineni expected a ministerial position in Jagan’s cabinet, representing the Kapu community. However, Jagan sidelined him and promoted leaders like Gudiwada Amarnath, Ambati Rambabu, and Perni Nani instead.

Reportedly, Jagan initially offered Samineni a position, but it came with a condition that Samineni later refused. Jagan asked him to personally criticize Pawan Kalyan, which Samineni was unwilling to do. In contrast, the other three leaders—Amarnath, Rambabu, and Perni—have been openly critical of Pawan in their political attacks.

TDP is reportedly not keen on accepting Samineni into the party due to long-standing rivalry between YSRCP and the TDP cadre. According to rumors, Samineni has approached Naga Babu to join Jana Sena. Pawan Kalyan has agreed to bring him into Jana Sena and is said to have offered Samineni a key party position. Pawan will decide Samineni’s role in the 2029 elections.

It seems that Kapu leaders within YSRCP continue to leave one after another following the election results, despite contesting on YSRCP’s behalf.
