UFC fans in shock as fighter suffers HORROR facial injury in bantamweight defeat in Las Vegas: ‘Did she get hit with an axe?’

UFC fighter Irene Aldana was left with one of the nastiest cuts in the sport’s history during her fight in the Las Vegas Sphere against Brazilian Norma Dumont.

Superstar Sean O’Malley was the main event but there was still much attention placed on the meeting of the two bantamweights at the historic event on Saturday night.

The bout proved to be a tight affair in the early round before a clash of heads resulted in 36-year-old suffering a grotesque cut to her face.

Commentator Jon Anik referred to it as a ‘slot machine-esque’ gash, while UFC legends such as legend Daniel Cormier lauded the Mexican fighter for battling on as blood poured from her face.

The brutal beating was not helped by Dumont’s obvious targetting of the area. The cutman did he best to address the wound but little could be done given the size of the injury.
