A new Malayalam thriller, Thalavan, has made its way to OTT, and it’s now available in Telugu too. The movie, which was released on May 24th, is a murder mystery with a gripping plot.
Initially a small production, it did decent by earning over Rs. 20 crores at the box office. The film is now streaming on Sony Liv.

Titled Thalavan, the movie stars Biju Menon and Asif Ali as police officers. It is based on real-life incidents involving a police officer. Miya George and Anushree play the female leads, adding depth to the story.
The plot revolves around the clash between two police officers, SI Karthik Vasudevan, played by Asif Ali, and CI Jayashankar, portrayed by Biju Menon.

The narrative keeps viewers guessing about who the real villain is until the very end.
Both lead actors deliver commendable performances. Biju Menon shines as the senior officer with a hint of ego, while Asif Ali’s character is portrayed with a touch of righteousness, making him stand out. Anushree’s role as Ramya, a key character in the plot, adds to the suspense.

Solid direction by Jis Joy and a tightly written screenplay keeps the audience decently engaged throughout. The background music by Deepak Dev and the cinematography by Sharan Velayudhan enhance the tense atmosphere, making this thriller a must-watch.
With limited characters and a strong storyline, Thalavan is a perfect pick for your weekend entertainment.
