    Not Great But Hopes Alive

    Devara Hindi

The official trailer of NTR’s Devara was released yesterday, generating significant buzz due to its pan-India action drama appeal.

However, the trailer hasn’t quite hit the mark with the Hindi audience. While not labeled as bad, it seems to have fallen short of expectations.

The 2-minute 40-second trailer showcased high-octane action and Anirudh’s intense background music, but many found it underwhelming.

NTR’s portrayal of Devara didn’t spark excitement among Hindi viewers. Saif Ali Khan, playing the antagonist Bhaira, failed to deliver one of his typically electrifying villainous looks, leaving some viewers disappointed.

Janhvi Kapoor, who plays Thangam, the love interest of Vara, had a role that seemed limited to just a single line in the trailer, contrary to the heavy promotion she received.

The trailer’s larger-than-life action sequences were expected to be a highlight, but many Hindi viewers felt the execution missed the mark.

The scene with Jr NTR riding a whale, which was intended to be a heroic moment, left some questioning the effectiveness of the VFX despite the film’s hefty 300 crore budget.

There is a lot of criticism for the film’s lighting, CGI, and VFX.

Reactions on social media have been mixed. One disappointed viewer tweeted, “I found #DevaraTrailer not great. I love larger-than-life movies, but this seemed too unrealistic. That shark scene is a joke.”

The opening day is expected to be significant, but the film’s success in the Hindi market will depend on future promotions.

A few trade analysts feel that even though the trailer is not that impressive, this kind of content is loved by the core mass audience in B and C centers and the film might do well in tier-2 and tier-3 Hindi belts.
