The Flood Water in Vijayawada is slowly receding. The inflows to Prakasam Barrage have decreased since water release from the upper projects got stopped.
The water in the colonies is being removed using fire engines. While food packet distribution is still ongoing, the government is sending free groceries to the worst-affected areas. Vegetables are being sold at subsidized rates.

In areas like Singh Nagar where there is a danger of flood again in case of rains, the Government has arranged free buses so that people can move to other parts of the city.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is still on the ground monitoring the relief works.

The best part of Chandrababu Naidu’s on-ground work is that he displays so much empathy while talking to the victims.
In his Review meetings and Press meetings, Naidu repeatedly acknowledged the gaps in the relief works without being in denial mode and asked the officials to behave well even if the victims were agitated.

“Try to understand them. Some of them may have not eaten properly for days. They may have become restless as they could not feed the kids and the old-age parents properly. Their anger is understandable. Do not fire on them. Talk to them gently. Make them understand the situation. Help them in all possible ways,” Chandrababu is telling them repeatedly.
The other day, a group of people stopped Chandrababu’s convoy and were clearly agitated.
The Security warned Naidu not to talk to them citing security risks. Some of them are not even listening and are very agitated about not getting a food supply.
But Naidu ignored the security and spoke to them so patiently. The video is going viral on social media and people are appreciating Naidu’s patience.
Chandrababu is always known for his administrative skills. He is someone who does not exhibit his emotional side easily. The age or the heart-rending scenes may have brought out this human side of Chandrababu.
