Police have launched a murder investigation into the death of 80-year-old Bhim Sen Kohli of Indian origin, who was attacked by a group of school children in Franklin Park, Braunstone Town, near Leicester.
On the evening of September 1, the elderly gentleman was reportedly kicked in the neck and back by five children, aged 12 to 14, while walking his dog.

The children, comprising a 14-year-old boy and girl, and two 12-year-old girls and a boy, have been arrested on suspicion of murder following Bhim Sen Kohli’s death on September 2.
The elderly man was just 30 seconds from his home when the attack occurred around 6:30 pm. Witnesses reported that the group fled the scene after the assault, leaving Kohli in severe distress.

Bhim Sen Kohli’s daughter described the assault as brutal, emphasizing that he had been a regular in the park for years.
Emergency services transported him to the hospital, but he later succumbed to his injuries.

Detective Inspector confirmed that the investigation is now classified as a murder case and has appealed for any additional information to aid the ongoing investigation.
