Chandrababu Naidu's Strong Warning To Ignorant Officials

After visiting the rain-affected areas in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu conducted a review meeting with the officials.

He lashed out at a few officials for their approach to the rescue operations. He asserted that he would not tolerate it if they continued the laid-back attitude inherited from the previous government.

Naidu said that officials should work in such a way that people appreciate the government. He asked why officials were not waking up even when he himself has entered the scene.

Naidu expressed his displeasure over the delay in the distribution of food, even after the government procured the required amount from various sources.

A minister told Naidu that the delay in food distribution happened due to a few officers on duty in the Budavelu area. He noted that work is being delayed in areas where officials who were Jagan’s supporters are working. He opined that those officials might be intentionally delaying the work.

Reportedly, the minister told Naidu that a few officers from different cadres, who came out of voluntary retirement to serve in the rain-affected areas, have been intentionally delaying work in rescue operations to tarnish the government’s reputation.

Naidu, who took the issue seriously, asked for a report regarding the delay in food distribution where these concerned officials were on duty.

Naidu warned officials that if they don’t want to work, they can leave their jobs. He said that this kind of behaviour will not be tolerated during a crisis situation.

He instructed officials to procure 3 lakh more food and water packets from the neighbouring districts. He appointed senior officials to monitor rescue operations in each ward affected by the rainfall.
