The last Telugu superstar-driven mass film in Telugu was Salaar which released last December. Mahesh’s Guntur Kaaram was also projected as a mass film but it didn’t have much going its way in terms of theatrical prospects.
So, it has essentially been nine months since Tollywood last produced a true blue mass film. This gap is playing very well in the hands of NTR’s Devara as it heads for release on the 27th of September.

The euphoria of a mass hero coming with a mass film is a different vibe altogether. No theatrical hype can match this kind of aura.
Of late, most superstar films have turned soft with the fascination to have pan Indian prospects and reach wider audience. But with Devara, director Koratala appears to be cooking a proper mass film, going by the content that we have seen thus far.

Even in multiple interviews in the past, Koratala said Devara is going to be his massiest film till date and he is excited about it.
Also, this is Tarak’s first solo film after 6 long years so his fans are also in proper mass mode.

Moreover, not many Telugu films have attracted and eventually satisfied the mass ceeded belt in recent months. This could also help Devara, thanks to NTR’s mass image in the C and D centers. All in all, we have a super exciting prospect at hand with this NTR starrer.
