    ZIM vs IRE Match Prediction

Despite playing remarkably well in the first ODI of the series at the Harare Sports Club, Ireland suffered a three-wicket defeat (DLS) as rain played a spoilsport. After losing the T20I series, the Andy Balbirnie-led side was desperate to make a comeback in the ODI series, but the luck was not on their side in the match. Thus, they will be hungry to get the desired results, when they once again take on the opposition on January 21, at the same venue.

Skipper Balbirnie (121) and Harry Tector (101) were phenomenal in the first match as the duo smashed a century each. Courtesy of their innings, Ireland (IRE) posted a healthy total of 288 runs on board after 50 overs and were cruising for the victory. Their bowlers kept Zimbabwe (ZIM) under pressure for the majority part of the time but Ryan Burl played a scintillating innings (59 off 41 deliveries) to change the fate of the game before being run out.

Meanwhile, returning to the Playing XI, Sikandar Raza scored 43 off 45 deliveries and based on their innings, Zimbabwe were ahead of the Irish side as per DLS after the 37th over, i.e., when the game was stopped due to rain and eventually won the match by three wickets.

    Pitch Report:

The pitch at Harare Sports Club favours both batters and bowlers. It is a bit difficult for the batting team in the initial overs and thus the team winning the toss should elect to bowl first. Any target over 280 runs will be a good score on this wicket.

Probable Playing XIs for ZIM vs IRE:

    Zimbabwe (ZIM):

Wesley Madhevere, Innocent Kaia, Craig Ervine(c), Gary Ballance, Sikandar Raza, Ryan Burl, Clive Madande(w), Wellington Masakadza, Brad Evans, Richard Ngarava, Victor Nyauchi

    Ireland (IRE):

Paul Stirling, Stephen Doheny, Andrew Balbirnie(c), Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Lorcan Tucker(w), Andy McBrine, Mark Adair, Graham Hume, Joshua Little

Probable Best Performers from ZIM vs IRE:

    Probable best batter: Harry Tector

The middle-order batter Harry Tector was exceptional in the first ODI. He batted in an aggressive manner and that can help Ireland build momentum in the middle overs. He smashed a century in the previous match and would hope to replicate the same in the next match.

    Probable best bowler: Mark Adair

The 26-year-old Mark Adair picked up two crucial wickets in the first match. He was economical as well and if he manages to keep up with the same kind of performance, Zimbabwe will be under pressure early on.
