The Indian community in the USA inaugurated a 90-foot-tall Hanuman Statue in Houston, Texas on Sunday, August 18. A grand Pran Prathista ceremony was held at the Sri Ashtalakshmi Temple to commemorate the splendid sculpture. The statue, named “Statue of Union” Abhaya Hanuman, is the 3rd largest Statue in the USA after the Statue of Liberty and Pegasus and Dragon.
The news comes just days after a dispute amongst Indian-Americans over an Ayodhya Temple float that was part of the India Day celebration in New York. However, this news has received a positive response as the statue is situated within the premises of the temple open for devotees and tourists. Indians are rejoicing on social media over the news and take much pride as the videos and photos of the massive structure were shared.
