Around 100 firefighters tackle blaze at London’s Somerset House; watch video



Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighter on Saturday battled fire that broke out at the renowned Somerset House arts center in central London, the London Fire Brigade said.
Sharing a post on X, the London Fire Brigade said: “Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters have now been sent in response to the fire at Somerset House. Crews are tackling a fire located in part of the building’s roof.”
“The cause of the fire is not yet known, the fire brigade said in a statement.
Somerset House, situated on the banks of the River Thames, dates back to 1547, originally a royal palace, now serves as a cultural center.
