Suriya is in need of commercial success that would revive his theatrical prospects. He is going with the pan India trend for his upcoming film, Kanguva which also happens to be the costliest film in his career.
The trailer for the film was unveiled today and it promises a slick actioner mounted on lavish scale.

What the trailer established is that Suriya and Bobby Dheol look like tribal warlords who are caught in communal conflict.
By the looks of it, Kanguva is a ruthless revenge action film mounted on a lavish scale.

It is refreshing to see Suriya out of the ordinary as he plays a tribal warlord in this Siva directorial. This is breaking new grounds for both Suriya and Siva and they have taken the ambitious route with the same.
DSP’s background score is alright. More enthralling sound work could have amplified the experience further.

While the scale and quality of the product evidently look superior, the need is to have a strong narrative that brings it all together. If director Siva can make it happen, then the prospects look bright.
