Jayam Ravi’s Miruthan was the first Indian zombie movie, which was released in 2016. As per speculations, now the makers of this film are planning to direct Part 2 of this movie.

Miruthan was directed by Tik Tik Tik and Teddy famed Shakti Soundar Rajan, starring Jayam Ravi, Lakshmi Menon, and Anikha Surendran. The musical album of this movie was composed by D. Imman, and the songs of this movie were chartbusters during the time of its release.
Although the Miruthan movie acquired mixed responses from the audiences, it was a new attempt in Tamil cinema. As per speculations, now the director of this movie, Shakti Soundar Rajan, plans to do part 2 for this movie with Jayam Ravi, and a leading production house is planning to produce this movie. Also, the pre-production work for Part 2 has already started, and it is expected that the shooting of this movie is going to start in early 2025.

Shakti Soundar Rajan, who usually makes different attempts from his previous movies, such as Naaigal Jaakirathai, was the first Tamil film that featured a dog as a lead, Tik Tik Tik was the first space-oriented Tamil film, and Teddy was the first Tamil film to design a special animated character. But all his attempts were acquired with mixed responses; as more than attempts, his storyline and narration were a bit poor.
