Educational institutions in seven districts in Kerala will remain closed on Tuesday due to heavy rain.
Schools and colleges will remain closed in Wayanad, Malappuram, Palakkad, Thrissur, Idukki and Ernakulam, informed the respective district collectors. In Kozhikode, holiday has not been declared for colleges.
However, PSC and university exams will be held as scheduled in all the above districts.
Meanwhile, the Kannur Collector has announced a holiday for educational institutions in taluks of Thalassery, Iritty and Thalipparamba. But, teachers have been directed to reach their respective educational institutions.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had on Monday issued an orange alert (115.6-204.4 mm) for Wayanad and other north Kerala districts.
