Apple may have finalised the primary suppliers of periscope lenses for iPhone 16 Pro
According to a report by DigiTimes Asia, industry sources have reported that Apple is expanding the use of periscope lenses across its iPhone 16 lineup. To meet this demand, the company is expected to rely on two primary Taiwanese suppliers — Largan Precision, who provided periscope lenses for the iPhone 15 Pro Max last year, and newcomer Genius Electronic Optical (GSEO).
This diversification suggests that Apple may even try to increase production volume or potentially secure more competitive pricing for this advanced camera technology.
Earlier, in October 2023, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo made similar claims. The new report seems to provide further evidence for the upgrade.

Rumours also claim that the upcoming iPhone 16 series may ditch physical buttons for touch-sensitive ones with haptic feedback. Cameras may switch to a vertical layout, and the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus models may get the “Action button” which was previously exclusive to Pro models.
For software, the iPhone 16 will run the newly announced iOS 18, with A18 chips for base models and potentially A18 Pro chips for Pro models. Displays may also see a refresh rate bump, with potential size increases for Pro models. Battery life is also expected to improve with the iPhone 16 series.
