Kalki 2898 AD box office collection day 7: The Prabhas-starrer is maintaining stability at the box office after its first weekend, as it overtakes the lifetime haul of Salaar.

The Prabhas-starrer Kalki 2898 AD has been in the theatres for a week now, and has already passed the Rs 700 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The dystopian sci-fi film started its box office journey in India with Rs 95.3 crore nett, and brought in Rs 23.2 crore on its seventh day. The drop in Kalki 2899 AD’s collections in India is at 75 percent since the day of its release. However, it has maintained its stability after the first weekend. From the sixth to the seventh day, the drop was only of 14.23 percent. As per industry tracker Sacnilk, this takes the film’s Indian nett collection to Rs 393.4 crore.

On its seventh day of release, Kalki 2898 AD saw an overall occupancy of 31.38 percent for the Telugu version. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the film was also released in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam. The Telugu version of Kalki 2898 AD has made Rs 202.8 crore during its first week in India, while the Hindi version has made Rs 152.5 crore, which makes it the second-highest grosser of the year in the Hindi market. Fighter leads the list with Rs 199.45 crore, as per Bollywood Hungama. Kalki 2898 AD has overtaken Ajay Devgn’s Shaitaan, which made Rs 149.49 crore nett. Hindi films have been having a tough time at the box office in 2024, so it seems likely that Kalki 2898 AD might become the biggest Hindi grosser of the year during its lifetime run.

Globally, Kalki 2898 AD has emerged as the most successful Indian film of 2024. After six days in theatres, the producers of the film, Vyjayanthi Movies, claimed that the movie has grossed Rs 700 crore worldwide. Dangal continues to be the biggest worldwide Indian film, with collections of Rs 2070 crore after its release in China. Dangal is followed by Baahubali 2, which made Rs 1788 crore, and RRR, which collected Rs 1230 crore during its lifetime run. Apart from these films, KGF Chapter 2 (Rs 1215 crore), Jawan (Rs 1160 crore) and Pathaan (Rs 1055 crore), managed to cross the Rs 1000 crore-mark worldwide. It is yet to be seen in Kalki 2898 AD will manage to join that club. After the seventh day’s worldwide collections, the film will certainly cross the worldwide collections of Shankar’s 2.0, which made Rs 744.78 crore in 2018, and has already overtaken Prabhas’ Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, which made around Rs 600 crore last year.

Alongside Prabhas, Kalki 2898 AD also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan, among others. The film also features cameos by Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda, Mrunal Thakur and director SS Rajamouli.
