Public sector lender Canara Bank issued a statement today, June 23, confirming that their official X account, @CanaraBank_X, has been compromised. In their official statement, the bank informed stakeholders about the breach: “Canara Bank would like to inform all concerned that the bank’s official @CanaraBank_X (formerly Twitter) account has been compromised. All concerned teams are investigating the matter and working closely with Twitter to regain access to the Canara Bank @CanaraBank_X handle at the earliest.”
The bank advised users not to engage with the compromised handle. “We urge users not to post anything on our @CanaraBank_X page. We will inform immediately when it is restored and under Canara Bank’s control. The inconvenience caused is regretted.”
The bank has assured that all efforts are being made to secure the compromised account and prevent any further unauthorised activity.
