Babar Azam: Babar Azam to pursue legal action against accusers after T20 World Cup criticism | Cricket News

NEW DELHI: Pakistan cricket captain Babar Azam is reportedly preparing to take legal action against YouTubers and former cricketers who have accused him of misconduct during the T20 World Cup. Sources cited by Geo News indicate that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is collecting evidence for this legal pursuit.

Babar and the Pakistan team faced intense criticism following their disappointing performance in the tournament, which saw them exit during the group stage. This criticism, which targeted Babar in particular, has left the captain disheartened.

An ANI report reveals that a coordinated social media campaign aimed at defaming Babar was launched during the World Cup. The PCB’s legal department is now investigating the defamatory statements made by several YouTubers and former cricketers.

The fallout from the early exit saw several team members return to Pakistan on a private flight, arriving at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport early Wednesday morning. Among those returning were players Naseem Shah, Usman Khan, and senior manager Wahab Riaz.

However, some squad members, including Babar Azam, Imad Wasim, Haris Rauf, Shadab Khan, and Azam Khan, chose to extend their stay in the United States.

Pakistan, who were runners-up in the previous edition of the T20 World Cup, failed to advance beyond the group stage in this year’s tournament, prompting a wave of scrutiny and criticism from fans and commentators alike.
