Modi will convene seven meetings across various topics post the Lok Sabha Elections, including post-cyclone situations, heatwaves, and preparations for World Environment Day

A day after the final phase of the Lok Sabha Elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to hold meetings on a wide range of issues, including the heatwave and post-cyclone situations.

Earlier today, the Prime Minister reviewed the impact of cyclone ‘Remal,’ especially in the northeast states. “Chaired meetings to review the situation in the wake of heatwaves and post cyclone flood situations in different parts of the nation. Took stock of the efforts underway to assist those affected by these adversarial conditions,” PM Modi said in a tweet.

Later in the day, the Prime Minister he is slated to hold a brainstorming session to review the agenda for the first 100 days of the next government. PM Modi will also hold a meeting to review the preparations for celebrating World Environment Day on a large scale, government sources said.

This back-to-back meeting comes a day after most exit polls predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led alliance is projected to win a majority in the general election. The NDA won 353 seats in the 2019 election. Nearly one billion people were eligible to vote in the seven-phase election that began on April 19 and was held in scorching summer heat in many parts. The Election Commission will count votes polled in electronic voting machines on June 4.

On Saturday, a News18 Mega Exit Poll predicted between 305 and 315 Lok Sabha seats for the Bharatiya Janata Party and 355 to 370 overall for NDA in the just-concluded elections. According to the survey, the Congress may get only about 62-72 seats in the elections, while its INDIA bloc could end up with a tally of 125-140. Parties outside the two alliances could net 42-52 seats. Modi on Saturday exuded confidence that people have voted in record numbers to re-elect the NDA government.

“India has voted! A heartfelt thank you to all those who exercised their franchise. Their active participation is the cornerstone of our democracy. Their commitment and dedication ensures that the democratic spirit thrives in our nation. I would also like to specially appreciate India’s Nari Shakti and Yuva Shakti. Their strong presence at the polls is a very encouraging sign,” Modi said in a series of posts on X. The prime minister said he can say with confidence that the people of India have voted in record numbers to re-elect the NDA government.
