WhatsApp to let you post 1-minute-long voice notes as status update soon, report says – Technology News

As Whatsapp plans to roll out the extension of its voice-based status feature,  you can now share your thoughts up to one minute, according to reports. WhatsApp will soon roll out an exciting new update for both iOS and Android users.

News comes in that the Meta-owned messaging app will update its status feature. ‘You will be able to share voice notes of up to one-minute duration from the previous 30-second limit,’ WABetaInfo reported.

    What’s the new update?

WhatsApp reportedly received a lot of complaints from the users for not being able to get a longer time to share their voice notes in WhatsApp status.

With the new update, WhatsApp aims “to provide users with greater flexibility over their sharing experience, allowing them to share more moments and stories with their contacts.”

WhatsApp Update: How to use it?

With reports from a screenshot shared by WABeta Info, now you will be able to record voice notes by holding down the mic button. This is similar to the way you do while sending a voice note in chats. You can also slide in order to cancel the voice note.

Android users can find the update on the Google Play Store, while iOS users can download it from the App Store. The current version seems to be available only for a few, however it plans to roll it out to a larger audience soon.

    What’s Up Next?

Reportedly, WhatsApp is expected to be working on other features apart from longer voice notes. Recently, it was reported that WhatsApp plans to give you more control over who can view your Status Updates.

The instant messaging app is believed to be experimenting with new tools that might allow you to decide exactly who can view your shared content. Now you can get more control over who can view their updates.

Additionally, you can also share longer videos in your status updates. With the future updates, you can share up to 1-minute long videos which earlier had a limit of 30 seconds.
