iPhone 16 Pro Max Leaks: Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 16 Pro Max in India in September this year. While we are months away from a possible debut, the rumour mill leaks details about the device at regular intervals. Ahead of the launch, fresh leaks tipped that the device could get improved battery life and a larger screen size than the 15 Pro Max.
On top of this, reports in the past have leaked several details about the device, ranging from the camera to the processor and more. For a detailed look at these significant leaks, here are eight things to expect from the upcoming iPhone.
Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max 2024: What To Expect
Longer Battery Life: According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the battery cells of the 16 Pro Max may offer more energy density. This could imply longer battery life for the device even if the battery mAh is not increased (or equivalent backup with a smaller battery). Apple may use a stainless steel casing for the battery to avoid heat due to increased density. This tech may seep into the iPhone 17 series next year. According to MacRumors, it may also have a stacked battery design for the upcoming model.
Bigger Display: This year’s ‘Pro Max’ could get a 6.9-inch screen. Images posted by @ZONEofTECH on X (formerly Twitter) give a better idea of the size people can expect compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max. The model could be taller (and wider) than the current device. Plus, Apple may adopt a micro-lens OLED display for more brightness and improved power efficiency. It will likely offer up to 1,200nits SDR peak brightness and use Border Reduction Structure (BRS) for slimmer bezels.
Capture Button: Apart from the Action Button, the company could bring the Capture Button on all iPhone 16 series models on the side where the power button sits. Unlike the power and volume buttons, it may be flush with the frame and help with photography and videography on iPhones. It may respond to touch and pressure to perform diverse camera functions.
Processor: According to reports, Apple could adopt a 3nm A18 (or A18 Pro) processor for the iPhone 16 Pro Max. It may offer an upgraded Neural Engine for AI-powered tasks. Plus, Apple may use a new graphene thermal system to curb overheating while gaming and performing heavy tasks.
Camera: Apple may bring a 48MP primary camera with a stacked design, a 48MP ultrawide lens and a Tetraprism zoom lens. The cameras may have an anti-reflective coating for better output and offer improved performance in low light, better dynamic range and portrait blur.
Charging and Connectivity: The MagSafe coils on the handset could be slimmer than the current models. Plus, the phone may offer 40W wired and 20W MagSafe charging. The iPhone 16 Pro Max may get a Snapdragon X75 modem for improved 5G connectivity and Wi-Fi 7.
iOS 18 and AI: The company is expected to ship the iPhone with iOS 18, which will pack a range of AI features. These may include improved Siri, AI-enhanced Apple apps and an on-device large language model (LLM).
iPhone 16 Pro Max Price, Release Date Expectations
MacRumors speculate that the iPhone 16 Pro Max may cost the same as the iPhone 15 Pro Max at its rumoured September launch event. The current model starts from Rs 1,59,900 on Apple’s website. Leaks suggest the 16 Pro Max could arrive in Space Black, Rose, Silver White and Natural Titanium colours. Plus, Apple may introduce a glossy frame on the model like the stainless steel edition. It could offer up to 2TB of internal storage.
