As we are nearing the dates of the Auto Expo 2023, the hype around a few key vehicles that are supposed to be unveiled in the show is becoming intense. And one of the most anticipated vehicles from the show will be the French automaker Citroen’s all-electric hatchback the eC3. Recently in another new revelation, the first spy shot of the interior of this upcoming EV has crept its way to the internet.
In the newest spy clicks, the fully exposed interior of the eC3 was shared online. From the picture, we can note that the majority of the interior will be identical to the one in the ICE C3. Although upon observing the picture a little closer we can note that there will be one huge distinction. That distinction will be the gear selector of the hatchback. Replacing the good old manual gear lever will be an all-new toggle switch gear selector.

Apart from this, we cannot spot anything out of the ordinary in the interior of the upcoming all-electric hatchback from Citroen. The interior of the ICE C3 upon which the eC3 is based is a pretty nice place to be in. It comes equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, a tilt-adjustable flat bottom steering wheel with music and Bluetooth controls, and a completely digital instrument dashboard make up the Citroen C3’s cabin.
The C3 is devoid of contemporary necessities like automatic temperature control, a push start-stop button, a rear wiper, and electrically adjustable outside rearview mirrors in order to reduce expenses. It has standard safety features including reversing parking sensors, ABS with EBD, and twin front airbags. With a segment-leading wheelbase and claimed class-leading shoulder room, Citroen’s C3 should provide ample space for three adults in the back.
As it stands, we currently have no exact specifications for the drivetrain of the upcoming eC3 although speculations have been made regarding the same. According to reports the eC3 could come equipped with a 30.2 kWh battery that would power a single electric motor. Reportedly it will produce around 84 BHP and 143 Nm of torque. The eC3’s battery pack is intended to provide a slightly longer range than the Tiago EV, which can go over 315 kilometers on a single charge and will be its direct rival.
Recently a completely undisguised eC3 was spotted charging at a public electric vehicle charging station. From the image, we noted that the vehicle was a base variant of the model and its rear was visible quite clearly. The test mule was seen with the charger attached to the front right fender, which in a previous spy shot was covered with camouflage. Another image of the charging station’s screen was shared which showed that the vehicle took around 45 minutes to charge to 83 percent. It is believed that this was possible due to the use of a fast charger.
Most likely the company will be unveiling the eC3 at the 2023 Auto Expo and reportedly the official launch will happen in March of this year. Upon launch the eC3 will take on the recently launched Tata Tiago EV although, its more appropriate rival will be the upcoming Tata Punch EV, which will be launched sometime in this year as revealed by Tata Motors.
