What Are the Major Releases for Nintendo After The Legend of Zelda: Kingdom of Tears?

The current year is soon going to be over, but 2022 has been great for Nintendo. The Japanese giant released many titles this year, like Splatoon 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 3, and Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. The year was sure full of fantastic content for Switch, but also received a lot of criticism for its performance issues. But despite everything, the Japanese giants have already revealed their major release for next year.

The priority release next year for Nintendo is none other than The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It would hit the shelves on 12 May 2023. But it has also intrigued fans to know what the other big releases next year following this Zelda game will be.

So far, the major Nintendo release for 2023 is the next The Legend of Zelda game. But aside from it, the entire schedule for the Japanese giants is a complete mystery. Moreover, they already released many big-name games this year. Even Nintendo’s other significant series Pokemon had three big releases this year.

Game Freak released three Pokemon games this year: Legend Arceus, Shining Pearl & Brilliant Diamon, and eventually the much-awaited Scarlet & Violet. It doesn’t seem like there would be a new Pokemon title, especially after the criticism their latest game faced. So what can be a big release for Nintendo next year aside from Zelda?

What is Nintendo planning after the release of Tears of the Kingdom?

Seeing Nintendo’s plans, the Japanese giants may release the Switch console’s successor in 2023. This speculation might not be wrong, as the Japanese giants released the Switch console with the release of Breath of Wild. So, they can release the next-gen console or “Switch Pro” with Tears of Kingdom.

If Nintendo releases the rumored Switch Pro next year, most developers might release an advanced version of their games. GameFreak, for example, can release Scarlet & Violet again without any issues and also some DLCs. We should expect Nintendo to focus more on releasing Switch Pro and updates or DLCs for their already-released games.
