There is no debating the fact that Shankar is not only one of the most gifted but also the most extravagant filmmaker of this generation. The latter was evident in the case of Indian 2, which had the most lavish of sets, richly shot songs, and colourful presentation, all for nothing.
Now, actor SJ Suryah has made an interesting comment about one particular set work in Indian 2 that is catching the attention on social media.

Suryah, in his interaction with a Tamil media house reported that a whopping Rs 8 crore was spent on his house set in the film. On top of that, the costs of Ravi Varman’s lighting and other additions costed the production house more money.
In the end, this lavish house of Suryah had no impact in the film. We barely get to see the house barring a couple of establishment shots.

While Suryah wasn’t complaining about Shankar’s working style, he was presenting the bare facts as he added that there 20 more such sets in the film.
This clearly reinstates the kind of overspending that went into Indian 2 and this problematic style that is ingrained in Shankar. Had he done the same with Game Changer, then Dil Raju must he a worried man.
