The Telangana government has been focusing largely on nabbing the cyber crime rate and increasing drug culture in the state. In the process, many raids have been conducted across the state over the last few months.
Recently, the Hyderabad City Cyber Crime police have arrested 18 criminals after conducting a special operation in multiple states like Rajasthan, Karnataka and Maharashtra.

According to the police, the arrested individuals have 319 cases across India, which includes 45 from Telangana. A total of 10 major cases, including sextortion, digital fraud, OTP fraud, insurance fraud and six investment frauds, were unearthed with this operation.
A total of Rs. 6,94,09,661 crore were seized in this operation. Apart from that, the police have also frozen Rs. 1,61,25,876 in the bank accounts of fraudsters. 5 lakh cash, 26 mobile phones, 10 sim cards, 16 ATM cards, 11 chequebooks, seven passbooks, a rubber stamp, two Desktops and one hard drive were seized from the fraudsters.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad City Commissioner CV Anand issued a warning about cybercrime, urging the public not to share any personal or banking information over phone calls, particularly concerning investment or insurance offers. He also advised against sending money to unknown individuals without thorough verification.
