Shankar’s Game Changer released during Sankranti turned out to be a box office disaster. It disappeared from theaters quickly.
The film was thrashed badly by the audience and critics for feeling like a patchwork of copied scenes, with some characters having no clear purpose or conclusion.

The film was initially 5 hours long, and the director admitted it was shortened drastically and hence the film turned out to be nonsensical.
One surprising aspect was that the song “NaaNaa Hyraanaa” praised by Thaman, was left out of the movie. It had great visuals, and a new technology used in its production, but it was removed because it disturbed the screenplay.

Fans were disappointed, but since the movie performed poorly, there was little discussion about the song afterward.
Recently the song was released on YouTube. Fans felt that the film could have been much better if the song had been included. If the song is looking so exotic on mobile and laptop screens, it would have been a visual spectacle on the big silver screen.
