Dengue cases have continued to surface in the State with 44 new cases being reported in the State on Sunday. According to the Health department, the total number of active dengue cases in the State is now 410. Out of the cumulative 1,588 dengue cases, 1,164 have recovered from the disease so far. Similarly, 14 patients of dengue have so far died from the disease, out of which 13 deaths have been reported in Dehradun district and one in Nainital district.
Out of the 44 new dengue cases reported on Sunday, 27 cases are from Haridwar district, eight from Dehradun, seven from Nainital and two from Udham Singh Nagar. According to official data, Dehradun remains the worst affected district with the cumulative number of dengue cases as high as 779. Haridwar district is the second most affected district with a cumulative number of 310 cases followed by Nainital with 247 and Pauri district with 154. Similarly, the cumulative number of dengue cases in other districts is 41 in Udham Singh Nagar, 30 in Chamoli, six each in Almora, Bageshwar and Champawat districts, five in Rudraprayag and four in Tehri district.
