Listed media SaaS company Amagi reported a nearly 30X YoY jump in its consolidated net profit to ₹74.8 Cr in the September quarter (Q2 FY27), driven by revenue growth outpacing expenses, lower ESOP-related costs, and a lower effective tax rate.
The company had posted a net profit of ₹2.5 Cr in the year-ago quarter. Sequentially, profit rose 120.7% from ₹33.9 Cr.
Operating revenue increased 27% to ₹475.8 Cr from ₹374.8 Cr in Q2 FY26. It grew 8.9% from ₹436.9 Cr in the preceding quarter.
Amagi provides cloud software that helps media companies launch, manage, distribute, and monetise television and streaming content.
Including other income, its total income stood at ₹501.9 Cr compared with ₹389.6 Cr a year ago and ₹454.5 Cr in Q1 FY27. Total expenses increased 9% to ₹419.3 Cr from ₹384.5 Cr.
Adjusted EBITDA grew 114% to ₹89.1 Cr, with its margin expanding 7.6 percentage points to 18.7%.
The company said ESOP-related costs declined to ₹25.4 Cr from ₹45 Cr a year ago. Its effective tax rate fell to 9.4% from 50%, with carried-forward losses in India offsetting a growing share of its profit base.
Meanwhile, other income rose 75.7% to ₹26.1 Cr, primarily driven by returns on IPO proceeds invested in fixed deposits and mutual funds.
However, Amagi said Q2 margins also benefited from the timing of planned senior hires, with some associated costs expected in subsequent quarters. It described its first-half adjusted EBITDA margin of 15.3% as a more representative near-term baseline.
Amagi generates revenue from three business verticals — streaming unification, monetisation and marketplace, and cloud modernisation.
Streaming unification, which helps media companies manage content distribution across streaming platforms, remained its largest vertical. Revenue grew 35% to ₹261.1 Cr, accounting for 54.9% of operating revenue.
The company attributed growth primarily to existing customers distributing channels across more streaming platforms.
Its monetisation and marketplace vertical, which helps content providers generate advertising revenue and expand distribution, reported revenue of ₹119.8 Cr, up 28%. It contributed 25.2% of operating revenue.
Growth was supported by higher monetised advertising impression volumes. Customer deployments also expanded the use of in-content advertising and tools that adapt ad breaks for different streaming platforms.
Meanwhile, cloud modernisation revenue rose 9% to ₹94.9 Cr, contributing 19.9% of operating revenue. The vertical helps broadcasters shift operations from on-premise infrastructure to cloud-based systems.
Amagi said growth in this vertical was affected by a higher year-ago base that included revenue recognised from a large broadcaster migration. Excluding this impact, the company said the vertical’s revenue would have grown about 36%.
On the operational front, cumulative hours of content processed since inception increased 43% to 1 Mn. Channel deliveries grew 29% to 10,787, while its distributor network expanded 24% to 477.
Monetised advertising impressions increased 65% to 16 Bn during the quarter.
Amagi said its priorities for the remainder of FY27 remain sustaining revenue growth, improving operating leverage, and strengthening cash conversion. It plans to continue investing in AI capabilities, product development, people, and technology.
Alongside the results, its board approved the appointment of former Accenture chief strategy and innovation officer Bhaskar Ghosh as an additional non-executive independent director for three years, subject to shareholder approval.
It also approved the appointment of promoter and CTO Srividhya Srinivasan as a whole-time director for five years, subject to shareholder approval. She will retain her CTO designation.
